Terms of service
Last updated: October 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a binding legal agreement between you and Firehouse Bidets LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By purchasing any product through firehousebidets.com (the "Site"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Products
We sell the ENGINE 1, a non-electric, cold-water bidet attachment designed for residential toilets. Product descriptions, specifications, and box contents are as listed on the product page at the time of purchase. Product images are illustrative; actual finish and color may vary slightly.
2. Assumption of risk — installation
The ENGINE 1 connects directly to a live pressurized water supply line. By choosing to install the product yourself, you voluntarily assume all risk of loss, damage, or injury arising from the installation, including without limitation the risk of water leaks, flooding, water damage, mold, and related property damage.
You agree to install the product strictly in accordance with the included installation guide, including shutting off the toilet's water supply before beginning work and verifying all connections are secure before restoring water pressure.
3. Professional installation strongly recommended
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND INSTALLATION BY A LICENSED PLUMBER. Self-installation is undertaken entirely at your own risk. Marketing statements describing the installation as quick or simple are not installation advice and shall not be relied upon as such. Only the included installation guide constitutes installation instructions.
4. Compatibility
The ENGINE 1 is designed for residential two-piece toilets with seat bolt holes 100–220 mm apart and an accessible cold-water supply line. It is not designed for commercial or industrial fixtures, and may not fit one-piece or skirted toilet designs. Determining compatibility with your toilet is solely your responsibility. Measure before ordering.
5. Intended use — cold water only
The ENGINE 1 is designed exclusively for connection to a toilet's cold-water supply line. Do not connect it to a hot-water line. Do not modify, disassemble, or alter the product or its connections in any manner not described in the installation guide. Any modification voids the limited warranty described below.
6. Limited warranty; disclaimer of all other warranties
The ENGINE 1 is covered by a 1-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, administered as described in our Refund Policy.
EXCEPT FOR THE LIMITED WARRANTY EXPRESSLY STATED ABOVE, THE PRODUCT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL FIREHOUSE BIDETS LLC, ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS, AGENTS, OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR WATER DAMAGE, FLOODING, MOLD REMEDIATION, PROPERTY DAMAGE, PLUMBING REPAIR COSTS, OR LOSS OF USE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY WAY RELATED TO THE PURCHASE, INSTALLATION, USE, OR MISUSE OF THE PRODUCT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE PRODUCT SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. Where such limitations are not permitted, they shall apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Firehouse Bidets LLC and its members, officers, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your installation, use, or misuse of the product; (b) your failure to follow the installation guide; (c) your modification of the product; or (d) your violation of these Terms.
9. Certifications
The ENGINE 1 is cUPC® certified (IAPMO File #14601), indicating independent testing to North American plumbing standards. Certification does not guarantee acceptance under every state or municipal plumbing code. Compliance with local codes is your responsibility.
10. Intellectual property
All content on the Site — including text, images, logos, and the Maltese-cross product design — is the property of Firehouse Bidets LLC, protected by copyright and common-law trademark rights arising from our use of the brand in commerce. No content may be reproduced, distributed, or used without our prior written consent.
11. Charitable donations
Three dollars from every ENGINE 1 sold is donated to The Yard Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donation amounts and recipient are as stated on the product page at the time of purchase.
12. Dispute resolution — binding arbitration; class action waiver
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the purchase or use of the product shall be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, conducted in Cook County, Illinois.
YOU AND THE COMPANY EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY. YOU AND THE COMPANY AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE SHALL BE RESOLVED SOLELY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS, AND THAT NEITHER PARTY SHALL BE ENTITLED TO JOIN, CONSOLIDATE, OR INCLUDE CLAIMS OF OTHER PERSONS, OR TO ARBITRATE ANY DISPUTE AS A CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.
Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek provisional or injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property rights or confidential information.
13. Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect, and the unenforceable provision shall be reformed to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
15. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Company regarding the purchase of products through the Site.
16. Changes to these Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. The version in effect at the time of your order shall govern that order.
